Jacob Arabo’s Black Baguette Diamond Rainbow Tourbillon is sleek sophistication with the ability to tantalize.

When Jacob the Jeweler Arabo introduced the first automatic timepiece marrying a tourbillon device with multiple time zone technology, it was a much talked about revelation in watch making by Jacob the Jeweler. In the year 2005, Jacob & Co. has taken timepiece and set it with black baguette diamonds, creating the unique, limited-edition Black Baguette Diamond Rainbow Tourbillion. Showing the evolution of the brand, the Black Baguette Diamond Rainbow Tourbillion utilizes their previously developed custom method of placing diamonds directly on the dial as shown in its sister watch, the Baguette Rainbow Tourbillon, creating a timepiece unsurpassed for its technology and design, but with an understated edge.

The stones on the face of the Black Baguette Diamond Rainbow Tourbillon have been set with absolutely no visible metal between the crystal and the diamonds, resulting in a total fusion of the elements on the dial. Nothing impedes the refraction of light on the diamonds – perfecting the look of stealth modernity.

“With all my new timepieces, especially my limited editions, I try and venture someplace that no one has been before,” said Jacob Arabo, Jacob & Co. founder. “I am particularly proud of this new Black Baguette Diamond Rainbow Tourbillon, as it combines my aesthetic sensibilities and technical pursuit of perfection.”

Cast in 18K white gold and paved in 204 baguette-cut black diamonds, the limited-edition piece boasts 33.54 carats including its buckle, with understated individually set baguette background with black geometric timers, with leaf-shaped, steel hands in a gun-metal treatment suspended above. The movement features Jacob & Co. pave bridges and a handmade finish.

On this limited edition from Jacob the Jeweler, the tourbillon motion is visible through the dial. An exhibition case back also allows the movement to show through the sapphire crystal. (The tourbillon device’s purpose is to eliminate errors of rate in the vertical position. It consists of a mobile carriage or cage carrying all of the parts of the escapement, with the balance in the center. The escape pinion turns about the fixed fourth wheel. The case makes one revolution per minute, thus annulling errors of rate in the vertical positions.)

The specific time zone functionality varies by style, with the timepieces covering 24 time zones in addition to the primary zone of the wearer. The 24 jewel movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, with a 120 hour power reserve. The movement is a mechanical, manual winding tourbilllon device.

Jacob Arabo introduced his fabulous limited edition Rainbow Tourbillon collection.  For the first time, a tourbillion device was seamlessly integrated with multiple time zone functions, offering exceptional accuracy and functionality.  The signature model conveys a bold personality with the full color spectrum featured on its dial and visible through the case back.  Additional color treatments are also available, and the case is offered in 18k white, yellow and rose gold, with or without diamonds.

The success of the Rainbow Tourbillon inspired Jacob the Jeweler to launch two additional limited edition complication models. The Diamond Tourbillon is truly a jewel for the wrist; its dial and case are set with more than 15 carats of pave diamonds.  With a skeleton tourbillon movement and transparent case back, the Crystal Tourbillon is an expression of elegance and master craftsmanship.  The baguette diamonds on the case, bezel and buckle make it distinctively Jacob & Co.  For 2009, the company expands the Crystal Tourbillon family to include two new color options—a version in corn silk sapphires and one in vibrant red Burmese rubies.

Jacob & Co.’s Manhattan timepiece, unveiled in 2007, exhibits Jacob & Co.’s symbolism for New York, outlining the Manhattan skyline in a sleek, 3- dimensional grid.  Expanding on the collection, Jacob the Jeweler Arabo introduces the Invisible Manhattan. With the street names removed from its dial, this sophisticated sister to the original features an astounding display of pave, baguette, and round-cut diamonds on the dial and case, exuding high fashion and sheer elegance.
